About Robert

Hi, my name is Robert Rustin.

I am a family man first and a craftsman second. I do my best to keep it in that order.

I am blessed with a wonderful wife and two daughters. Without their love and support, I wouldn’t be where I am in my journey. They deserve all the love and praise I can give them.

I am decidedly not a factory, and I do not intend to become one. I believe wood is a wonderful material, should be handled with care, and crafted with precision. Wood connects us to the world, and as a natural resource, it often reminds us that life is bigger than ourselves. Simultaneously, its seemingly endless uses and applications are always at work to better our everyday lives as people. The key is using it the right way.

By investing the appropriate amount of time to your project, I aim to craft you something that is completely custom to your needs and will bring a sense of calm to your everyday life.

I look forward to having a conversation with you.

Our Story

Growing up skateboarding and BMX ing, I built my fair share of ramps. These were often constructed fairly crudely, but they held up just enough for myself and the neighborhood kids to enjoy countless afternoons outside in the Florida sun. From the early exposure to basic hand and power tools, to many years later working in a door shop, I began to see a potential career path that allowed me to be creative while also using my hands.

My first steps down this path started as a side business called Belmont Furniture & Joinery, birthed in my hometown of Port St. Lucie, Florida. This was partly out of necessity and partly to discover if this could be a viable business. In 2021, my family and I moved to Boerne, Texas, to begin an apprenticeship with Andy Rawls of Andy Rawls Fine Texas Woodcraft. After two years in that position, we decided it was the right time to branch out independently.

Today, my family and I still live in Boerne and hope to call it home for a long time. I offer items for sale here on my website, or I can design, build, deliver, and install custom woodwork. This includes cabinets, joinery, and furniture, crafted to fit your needs exactly. I hope to earn not only your business, but also your trust. I look forward to working with you.
